First of all, it’s been to long since my
last post.
I have been having a difficult time doing
this because I have been very self-conscious about myself and the way I look. I’ve been told by a couple of friends that I
should really post a before and after of myself. Well, it’s only fair. I have asked some close friends that have
told me that I need to do this, and frankly they are right.
This picture is from December 2009 when I was
at my high water mark of 217 pounds. My
precious little girl in this picture is only 1. Only a few short months after this picture was
taken I changed my routine. I changed my
outlook. I changed everything and it
changed my life. I started looking at
what I was doing and eating how active I was and how active I wasn’t. Unlike my friend Sharon, my weight just kept
going up and up. It never fluctuated because
I didn’t think I had a problem. I didn’t
try anything I felt like I was pretty active and was complacent. But with the encouragement of my wife, we, I
moved forward and as my Beach Body Coach says, I pushed play.
Starting in Spring of 2010 through today I
have dropped more than 40 pounds and now sit at 173 pounds. Even with a minor bulging disk in my neck
from the car accident, I talked about that in a previous post, I’m still trying
to staying active. But I realized that
if I was going to make a change in my weight I had to change the way I was
doing things. I HAD to change my
routine. I sat down and set a goal and
figured out what I wanted to accomplish and still be active in my children’s
life and not take away from my time with my wife. My conclusion since I don’t like to stay up
late…get up earlier. For the past 2+
years I’ve been getting up at or near 4:30 in the morning (including weekends)
and getting my work outs or runs in. My routine
didn’t just change I completely flipped it on its head. And I could be more proud. I have been encourage by my friends, my wife
and my Beach Body Coach Dan. So much in
fact that I decided to do it myself.
My programs consisted of P90X, INSANITY (2
times), T25 (2 times), INSANITY ASYLUM and training for various 5K’s, 15K’s and
Half Marathons.
I love the way I feel most of all, both
physically and spiritually. My wife was
my inspiration, my children are my driving force and my trust in the Lord is
the engine that keeps it going. I have a
few more pictures to post and I’ll have to download those soon.
